- The easiest way to connect to your host would probably be to use a
- program like SLIPCall (available on AmiNet) which makes the login
- procedure completely automatic. If you want to dial with a
- comm-program, login as usual at your host (with username and password)
- , then enter the command for starting SLIP, usually just "slip".The
- comm-program then has to release the serial device without closing the
- connection (otherwise AmiTCP wont be able to use it), this can be
- achieved by adding "AT&D0" to your modem init string. After that,
- provided AmiTCP is configured correctly, enter "startnet <ipaddress>"
- at a shell prompt. If your host provides dynamicly allocated IP
- addresses, this address is most likely to be printed when you enter
- "slip", otherwise you have probably gotten the IP address some otehr
- way.
